EXPO 2000 TRANSAREA

Another invention of Fernando Toma, although this invention is based on the combination of existing products that have never met in such a compromising way, creating layers of glass called Privalite in the depth of the spectator. Glass mosaic which according to the current were transparent or opaque. By synchronizing the light of 36 slide projectors with the various opaque or transparent glasses they gave depth, in short, a three-dimensional calleidoscope. Imagine that this visual installation at Expo 2000 in Hannover Germany was seen by more than 1.2 million spectators. from 1 June 2000 to 31. October 2000. During this 54 sec show 2800 slides were shot. Each day was repeated 7000 times the 36 Kodak EKTAPRO 5050 projectors were manipulated by Electrosonic so that the changeover time of the slides was reduced from 1.2 Sec. To 0.9 sec. various projectors were equipped on sleds a way to move content horizontally
Transarea - the multifunctional projection system for the presentation of three-dimensional and accessible picture installations. Whether slide or video projection, the two-dimensionality of projection walls or screens is eliminated. And the viewer? He is included, becomes part of the pictorial world, can walk through it. The technology: projection surfaces made of glass, with variable transparency, digitally controlled together with the projectors. Where a picture "just" stood in the room, a short time later the view of the hidden pictures behind it is released. The arrangement of the glass surfaces: linear or circular wall installations, mazes, parallel graduation of projection glasses on ceiling or floor surfaces. A versatile system, the possible uses of which know no bounds. The result: impressive image layers, atmospherically intense presentations, optical merging of projected illusion and physical reality ...
Tranzarea - a development by Fernando Toma. As is so often the case, the specific tasks of a client and the content to be conveyed inspired Fernando Toma to develop a completely new presentation technique. On behalf of the Association of the Chemical Industry, Fernando Toma designed the "Theater of Achievements" as part of the "Chemidrom" at Expo 2000 - a multimedia presentation on the big topic "Chemistry". Fernando Toma now meets modern liquid crystal technology with the classic "peep box stage" of the theater - premiere of the Transarea projection system "Transarea" and  The "Theater of Achievements" can still be seen at the Expo in Hanover until October 31, 2000.
